Frequently Asked Questions

Nowadays we all need to be our own advocate when selecting providers for any dental service. How is one to know where to look or who to trust for just about everything? My name is Dr. Voit. I've been the director of two multi-center national dental implant centers here in Chicago since 2006, ClearChoice 2006-2009 and Eon 2009-2022. Isabel Ruttenberg, my treatment coordinator and office manager, and I have worked together for over 15 years discussing treatment options with hundreds of folks with dental issues hoping we could help them. Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), also known as Cold Laser Therapy is a non-invasive, pain-free treatment utilizing specific wavelengths of light to stimulate cellular activity and promote natural healing processes. Erchonia's state-of-the-art LLLT devices deliver targeted, low-intensity laser beams to the affected tissue, enhancing cell metabolism, reducing inflammation, and accelerating tissue repair. Widely used for pain management, wound healing, and various musculoskeletal conditions, Erchonia's LLLT offers a safe, effective, and drug-free solution for patients seeking relief and improved quality of life.

Erchonia uses low-level lasers in the visible light spectrum. The primary mechanism for absorbing visible light photons is the elevation of electrons to higher energy levels. This is known as molecular excitement and can be explained deeper through visible/ UV Spectroscopy.
Visible light photons match the energy volt (eV) or frequency between the orbits of electrons to move the electron to a higher state (excite). It is in this excited state that chemical reactions of molecules occur. One of the most important chemical reactions is when photons of visible light energy strike certain atoms, that energy may push an electron to a higher energy level where it can be picked up by an electron acceptor. The electron transport chain uses high-energy electrons to convert ADP into ATP. The electron transport chain (ETC) is the primary source of ATP production in the body and is vital for life!

Anyone missing teeth is a candidate for getting dental implants. However, you must undergo a free CT scan consultation to evaluate your needs. Based on the specific condition of your jawbone Dr. Voit and his associates will decide what options are available for you. Our experienced team of Dental Specialists at our Glenview Dental Implant Center evaluates each patient individually to determine their candidacy for dental implants, ensuring personalized care and optimal results.

  • Stable teeth with stronger chewing power.
  • Dental implants can last a lifetime.
  • Dental implants prevent bone loss from missing teeth that results in facial sagging and the premature look of aging.

While dental implants offer numerous benefits, there are potential risks to consider. Infection, inflammation, and pain are possible risks associated with oral surgical procedures. Dr. Voit and his associates are experienced and will discuss how you can manage any issues according to your needs. Advances in surgical and prosthetic protocols have eliminated the need for bone grafting.

The cost of a full arch upper/lower implant supported monolithic zirconium prosthesis (using Zirkon Zahn Premium Prettua Zirconium) at our Glenview Dental Implant Center is $39,500 or usually less depending on your case. Set up a complimentary consultation with Kerry Voit DDS & Associates to see how we can save you money. This fee is inclusive of all services with no hidden fees or additional charges. We strive to provide transparent pricing to our patients, ensuring they receive comprehensive care without unexpected expenses. Contact us today to schedule a free consultation with a CT and discuss how we can help you achieve a confident smile with our transparent pricing and financing solutions.

Some insurance companies cover dental implants to various degrees. Our office will submit a pre-treatment estimate to verify the extent of any coverage. Additionally, we help you acquire flexible financing options to make dental implants more accessible to individuals with varying budgets. We currently arrange financing so over 90% of our patients qualify for the treatment, making it affordable to have this life-changing treatment more accessible.

The dental implant procedure itself is not painful as it is performed under the effect of local anesthesia and sedation. We use a very powerful topical anesthetic on the gum tissue before administering the anesthetic injection, thus eliminating any pain. The full mouth anesthesia leaves the mouth completely numb so you don't feel any pain. Some achiness may be experienced once the local anesthetic wears off. We prescribe several strengths of pain medication to keep you comfortable.

  • The timeline for treatment varies depending on how quickly the desired tooth position can be ascertained with the printed prototype. The zirconium teeth can be fabricated by copying the printed prototype design. Generally, it takes 2 to 8 appointments over a 2-to-8-week period to have the zirconium teeth installed. Each person is different.
  • Bone requires 12 weeks of healing to fully mature. A specialized diet must be adhered to during this 12-week bone healing period to avoid overloading and failure of the implants.
  • The purpose of the printed teeth is only to serve as a prototype for the position of the teeth. The zirconium teeth will be a copy of the printed prototype. You will select the tooth and gum tissue colors of zirconium. The zirconium teeth will provide the desired chewing efficiency and color that is lacking in the printed prototype teeth.
    TYPICAL TIMELINE:

    • A minimum of 2 weeks is required for the gum tissue to heal and any swelling to subside. During the first 2 weeks, you will be using an antibiotic and a bactericidal rinse along with no chewing of any solid food. The only safe foods for you to eat are yogurt, pudding, ice cream, clear soups, etc. This is required to minimize the chance of infections.
    • The next step is verifying the position of the printed prototype teeth. This may require several different revisions to ascertain the desired position.
    • You will select the Zirkon Zahn Premium Prettua Zirconium color of the teeth and gum tissues once the position has been determined. The zirconium teeth will be made by copying the accepted design of the printed prototype.
    • The zirconium teeth will be installed along with the fitting of a night guard.
    • The final appointment completing treatment is 12 weeks after surgery and will consist of removing the zirconium teeth, evaluating the health of the gum tissues, and acquiring another CT scan that will serve as a baseline for future reference.

The success rate of full arch dental implants is 98-99%. Factors including overall health, smoking cigarettes, and compliance with post-surgical instructions, especially during the healing phase of treatment, affect success rates.

  • Smoking 1 pack/day success rate - 70%
  • Smoking under 1 pack/day success rate 85%

  • Full Arch dental implants with monolithic zirconium teeth are designed to be a long-term solution for tooth replacement and can last a lifetime with proper care. The durability of this procedure is attributed to the biocompatible titanium posts (dental implants) that integrate with the jawbone, providing a sturdy foundation for the zirconium teeth.
    • Individual factors such as oral hygiene practices, overall health, and lifestyle habits can influence the longevity of dental implants.
    • Regular 6-month “implant maintenance” appointments are essential to have a favorable long-term outcome and are required to validate the 3-year Dr. Voit & Associates' guarantee.
    • The implant maintenance appointment involves removing the “plugs” covering the prosthetic screw holes, unscrewing the prosthetic screws holding the teeth to the implant abutments, cleaning the zirconium teeth, and inspecting the gum tissues. This protocol allows the opportunity to identify early signs of gum tissue inflammation and take measures to reverse the inflammation thus avoiding bone loss around the dental implants.
  • Prevention of biological complications (LOSS OF IMPLANTS) is of utmost importance for the long-term survival of dental implants. These complications are avoidable with adequate oral hygiene and 6-month implant maintenance appointments to identify beginning signs of inflammation. Biological complications of the gum tissue arise when inflammation begins around the abutments that are under the teeth. This inflammation is due to inadequate oral hygiene. The result is peri-mucositis (GUM TISSUE INFLAMMATION), which is a reversible inflammatory process in the soft tissues, or peri-implantitis (BONE LOSS AROUND THE IMPLANTS). The six-month implant maintenance appointments identify inflammation, which is usually reversible before irreversible bone loss occurs.
  • Bone loss due to chronic inflammation rarely occurs in less than six months. The importance of routine six-month implant maintenance appointments cannot be underestimated.
  • Bone loss only occurs when patients do not adhere to the six-month implant maintenance schedule and thus voids their 3-year warranty. Treating bone loss around an implant with bone grafting is very unpredictable. Definitive treatment requires additional surgery to remove the implant, bone graft the area, place a new implant, and fabricate a new full arch of zirconium teeth. Additional fees are required.
